If you are having issues with your printer and it will not print, there is a few things you can do before calling the help desk to attempt to get it to work.
Note: Some of these steps may not work with an epson impact kitchen printer. If you are attempting to troubleshoot once of these, please just contact the help desk.
1. You can first start by checking to make sure that the power is on and the paper is put in correctly. Also make sure that there is nothing inside the printer and that it is clear of debris. This is a basic first step but it is important for troubleshooting.
2. Next, check the ethernet cable on the back of the printer and make sure it has a green light. This green light means it is working and actively getting a connection. If you do not see a green light, it could either be an issue with the ethernet cable, or your wall jack. You can troubleshoot this by either replacing the ethernet cable and seeing if that works, or moving the printer to a different wall jack to see if that fixes the issue.
3. Our third and final step will be printing a diagnostic sheet from your printer. You can do this by turning off the printer, holding down the feed button for a few seconds, and then while still holding the feed button turning the printer back on. You will be looking for a I.P. address on the sheet it prints out. The I.P. address on a printer that should be functional should look something like 192.168.192.xxx. If you see an I.P. that looks like that, you can then turn off the printer and back on and see if it works now.
If you have tried all of these steps and issues are still occurring, please call the help desk at 855-225-5250.
